In appalling conditions, round three of the Swalec Bowl against Bynea produced a try for the visitors after only five minutes from their second row, touching down in the corner, following a good spell of play from their dangerous backs.

A penalty ten minutes later for the home side reduced the arrears but, despite Bynea's number 11 being off the field - yellow carded, a second try for the visitors, in the right hand corner again, shortly before the break, increased the lead to seven points at half time; ten points to three.

The game was still evenly balanced following the restart and it was not until two tries in five minutes, with twenty minutes remaining, that Bynea finally gained the upper hand, the first from a defensive handling error with a flykick and a touch down from the resulting loose ball and then, following more good work from the visitor's backs a second in the same corner to virtually settle matters.    

An excellent try for Saints wing Mark Pickersgill in the corner was to be just a consolation, producing the final score of 20 points to 8 in favour of Bynea.
