Having gained promotion to Division 2 West this season the squad have trained well over the summer and our only pre-season was against Division 1 opposition v Brynamman RFC at home winning 24 - 7. We also enjoyed a trip to the Valero 7s held at Tenby RFC winning the Plate competetion having lost in the Semi-final to a strong Ponty Butchers team.

Our first league fixture would be a visit to Tenby RFC who are fancied for promotion in this division and on the display of their pack they will cause most opposition a stern test. The Saints stepped up and playing a 49 minute first half we certainly missed out on a few try scoring opportunities and whilst Tenby dominated the set piece St Clears played most of the attacking rugby. Having led 5 - 12 with Tenby scoring late in the half to level up 12-12. Saints tries from Dafydd Waters and Alun Davies in the fits half.  Tenby took their opportunities in the second half and our only score was a converted try with Dafydd Waters crossing for his second late in the game, converted by Dan Griffiths. Final score Tenby 24 - St Clears 17.

We welcomed Tycroes to Parc Griffith Jones on Saturday 9th on what was to be the warmest day of the year. Despite the heat we ran in 7 tries all converted by Dan Griffiths. Intent on moving the ball at every opportunity we scored at regular intervals, although Tycroes took their opportunities as well. We eventually won comfortably 47 - 17 with tries from Dafydd Evans, Liam Rogers (2), Dafydd Waters(3) and Jac Howells Two games in we can be satisfied with our start to the season and travel to Lampeter RFC next week.

Our youth are back in action with a win and a loss in preseason v Cwmgors & Lampeter. The young team travelled to Tumble in their first league fixture loosing 30 - 5 to a strong outfit. Next week the youth welcome Penybanc RFC to Parc Griffith Jones. Good luck for the season!.
